Post-race, I feel so empowered now. It's a wonderful feeling! I went to boot camp tonight and told the instructor about the race, and some girls talked to me about it after as well. Boot camp was awesome tonight - it was a really challenging class, but I didn't feel like "I can't do this" at any point. I used the heavier set of weights, 7.5 pounds, for the ENTIRE class. When I started this class back in the winter, I'd use 2.5 pounds as my light set and 5 as my heavy, so to be at 7.5 now is awesome. That might not sound like a lot, but the class involves doing high repetitions rather than heavy weight - trust me, you feel the burn!!! After the class, the instructor told me "By the way, you're looking awesome lately!" That made my night : )
After class, I did the cross ramp for 30 minutes. I usually have this machine set at an incline of 10 with a resistance warm up of 8 working up to 10. Tonight I warmed up at 10 & 10, then built up to 12 & 11.
Class ends at 8, and I was so sad to see that it was already pretty dark outside. Summer really is coming to an end : ( The weather is absolutely gorgeous though, loving the break from high heat and humidity!
